Oil Changes

Changing the engine oil is one of the most important things you can do to keep your car running like it is supposed to for a long time. Car manufacturer recommendations consider, short trip or stop and go driving that most of us do on a daily basis, to be severe driving conditions and require changing the oil and filter more frequently, usually every 3 months or 3000 miles.

Engine oil is made up of a complex formula of additives designed to reduce wear on all moving parts. By going too long between oil changes these additives are used up and combined with dirt can form sludge reducing the ability for the oil to lubricate properly resulting in major engine damage. Changing the oil and filter on time will prevent this. The owner’s manual will tell you the proper oil to use in your engine. Any major brand of oil is good oil as long as it is changed at regular intervals.

An oil change is a simple operation, but because we are a full service repair shop, we would be happy to advise you of other potential problems or maintenance that may be required to keep your car running at top performance.
